Over Packing and Potential Costs to You
By: Bev & Chris  -  4/1/2008

Airline baggage restrictions are getting tougher and can be quite costly.  Most airlines now limit luggage to one carry on and two checked pieces.  After that you pay more for each bag.  All checked luggage must met strict weight and size limits.  Some airlines now charge for that second checked bag.

It is best to check with your airline(s) to see about their charges, the sizes they allow and the weight allowed, as they vary from airline to airline.  You may be all right on one left of your flight, change airlines and find out you need to pay extra for the same bag taken off of another airline.

It pays to plan ahead, just prior to packing as the rules can change.  These kinds of surprises can set the tone for the rest of your trip.

Have you experienced baggage restrictions on a recent flight?  Tell us your experiences ... leave us a comment.
